Another Day

All this cold weather is just bringin' me down.
I fear our trusted rodent weatherman, Phil, was mistaken.

If he was indeed on target, I'm sure it would have been helpful for him to make some sort of prediction about his hometown NFL team. There are plenty of people who set monetary stakes in the big game and would have benefited from a Superbowl prediction more so than the notion of an early spring.

Q: So where does that leave us?
A: Jonesing for summertime.
Ahh, how I adore the humid- laced heat of living near the Gulf Coast! Just the thought of fond memories from chillin' down at Crystal Beach mid-July brings me the warmth I so desperately need.

I guess I'm Gulf Coast Beach "dreamin' on such a winter's day"...

Pack up the kiddos, stock the cooler, and "don't forget to bring a towel!"

Going to the beach is always fun.
Here are a few of my favorite things:
Favorite thing #1: My boa-trimmed koozie-- no man will take my drink when I use this little beauty! Purple with purple sequins and a lime green boa to trim the top & bottom of the koozie-- a cherished gift from my lil' Meg.

Favorite thing #2: This, my friends, is a pin-apple (pronounced pin-yapple). Mmmm, delicioso! If you don't know what I mean, then you are missing out.
Recipe: 1 fresh pineapple, liquid pina colada mix, & your favorite fruity rum (banana is good). Gut the pineapple and fill it with ice, liquid pina colada, and banana rum. There you have it! The yummiest drink of summer.

Favorite thing #3: Racing my Smurfs kite against the kids' Spiderman kite. Fear not faithful Smurfs fans, we will not be defeated!

Favorite thing #4: Helping the kiddos catch hermit crabs, then accidentally knocking the bucket over before we leave. Those little crabs stink to high heavens, but it's fun to catch 'em. And, it keeps the kids preoccupied.

My most favorite thing about going down to Crystal Beach:

Favorite thing #5: Beating my brother at horseshoes.

Ahh, those were the days.
I'm feelin' better already, and it's not much longer 'til I'm once again soakin' up the summer sun.

Until then, I'll be singin' the blues...

Cold, cold GO AWAY!
Come again another day...
